Let’s face it, it is hard to burn belly fat.  If you are having problems losing weight then you have probably been through all of the latest diets and weight loss fads out there.  Think of all of the advertisements on TV that talk about easy weight loss.  If you’ve purchased some of these products then you might feel cheated because the product had no effect yet still cost you a lot of money!

Don’t worry, you aren’t alone.  Many people go through the same cycle of diets and weight loss drugs in order to burn belly fat, only to end up in frustration.  Part of the reason for this endless cycle of disappointment is the idea that weight loss is easy and that you don’t need discipline or hard work to accomplish your goals.  

The truth is, there is more to effective fat burning than just a gimmick.  There simply isn’t an easy way to do it, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun at the same time you are putting yourself on the fast track to better health.  

The bottom line is that you need to burn more calories than you consume.  And because muscle burns more calories than fat, burning belly fat will become easier as you progress.  The first thing you need to do in your quest to lose weight is to make yourself eat the right foods.  Foods high in fiber as well as natural whole foods will be easier to digest and help you lose weight as opposed to fast food. It is also important to drink plenty of water so that all of your systems will work to your advantage in regulating your weight.

What exercise can you do to burn belly fat?

For exercise, it is a good idea to get in 30-60 minute of cardiovascular workouts at least 3 times per week.  This can include hitting a heavy bag to walking or jogging.  Anything you can do to get that heart pumping will be beneficial.  This is where you can also mix it up a little by replacing running with hiking or basketball.  Soccer and other sports where a lot of running is involved will really make your weight loss seem effortless because you are having fun.  Even investing in a Wii gaming system—and utilizing “Wii Fit” is a much better way to burn belly fat trying to run if you really don't like it.  

In order to gain more muscle mass, you can throw in an extra day or two of weight training.  This means doing low repetition, higher weight exercise in order to build that essential muscle mass to burn belly fat.  Only lift higher weights if you are on a home machine or have some one to spot you. Lifting higher amounts of weights can be dangerous.  

If you combine all of these things then you will burn belly fat quickly.  Getting in the right frame of mind is so important because there is simply no easy way to do it.  Keep in mind that it doesn’t have to be drudgery.  If you plan a new healthy lifestyle around some form of sport then you are more likely to have fun while doing it.
